Promotion blocks

You can add different Promotion activities blocks to the Journey Orchestration canvas, based on the products enabled on your environment.

Challenge

A challenge block can be dragged and dropped on the canvas and connected to a Member Segment, thus allocating a challenge to those members when the activity is run.

Double-clicking on the challenge block opens the configuration of the challenge in the same window.

To start with, when you connect the challenge to a member segment to its left (upstream), the challenge is automatically marked as a triggered activity. That means that the activity is being allocated dynamically to a list of members when the campaign runs.

All the configuration steps are the same as the standard challenge, in regards to the rewards settings, activity behavior, and challenge layout.

There is no segmentation section since user allocation is done dynamically during the activity period.

Instead, in the Trigger tab, the allocation limits per user can be defined.

  • Validity period defines how long the challenge will be valid in the App until it is either completed or expires.
  • Time between challenges issued is used to limit how often a user can receive the challenge, in case the campaign is run multiple times. For example, if there is a job that runs every night to check for high spenders in the last 30 days, a user will be selected every day. To limit to only one allocation per month, the selection should be made of 1 month(s) or 30 days.

Game

A game block can be dragged and dropped on the canvas and connected to a Member Segment, thus allocating a game to those members when the activity is run.

Double-clicking on the game block opens the configuration of the challenge in the same window.

  • Validity period defines how long the game will be valid in the App until it is either played or expires. If this is more than 1, the user will still be able to play only once a game attempt.
