Create feed

1. Feed details

  1. Name

    • Enter a recognizable name for your feed (e.g., LemonadeRecipeFeed).
    • Maximum size: 100 characters
  2. Analytics Identifier:

    • Add a unique identifier to track analytics (e.g., feed-1234-5432).
    • Maximum size: 50 characters
  3. Type

    • Select feed type from the available options (e.g. Inspiration, GreenNews)
    • Type selection is available only if both Inspiration and GreenNews feeds are features supported in the app.
  4. Select chain(s)

    • Select one or more chains
    • The feed will be displayed to users bound to one of the selected chains
    • If no chain is selected the feed will be available in all chains

2. Feed content

  1. Content type

    • Choose Text, Image or Video content type
    • Based on the option selected the next section of content configuration contains different inputs
  2. Display priority

    • Optional with client specific default value (e.g. 3)
    • Feed are ranked based on: priority and publish date. It means that feeds with the highest priority and most recent publish date are shown first in the row of feeds.

  3. Title - Add a title on your feed

    • Required
    • Maximum size: 80 characters

  4. Text, Top Message Text, Bottom Message Text - Add a message to your feed

    • Depending on the content type chosen, feed supports Text, Top message text and Bottom Message text
    • When the Content type is text, the recommended maximum size of the input is 140 characters and the Text is required
    • When the Content type is Video or Image, the recommended maximum size of both inputs for top message text and bottom message text is 140 characters and one of the message texts is required

  5. Feed image

    • When content type is image, the user has to either upload an image or to input an URL to an image.
    • Allowed file formats are: .png, .jpeg, .jpg
    • After uploading the image can be changed through the Change file button
    • Maximum size: depending on the system configuration. Most commonly: 2MB

  6. Feed video

    • When content type is video, the user has to either upload a video or to input an URL to a video.
    • Additionally the user has to upload a thumbnail image either by uploading an image or by providing an URL
    • Allowed file formats are: .mp4, .mov, .avi, .qt
    • After uploading the video can be changed through the Change file button
    • Maximum size: depending on the system configuration. Most commonly: 30MB

  7. Feed button

    • Add button to feed to configure feed action
    • Configure:
    • Button text : Text to reflect the configured action. Maximum size: 32 characters.
    • In-app navigation: Choose a destination screen within your app
    • Navigate to external URL: Optionally, send users to a specific external website by adding the external URL. By choosing Show external links in web wrapper the external URL will be opened withing the app.

3. Segmentation

  1. By stores (All) * When no stores are selected, feed is displayed for all customers from the selected chains (or from all chains depending on the chain configuration from before), taking in consideration the customer segmentation from below. * When specific stores are selected, feed is displayed only for the customers bound to one of the stores selected, taking in consideration the customer segmentation from below.

  2. All customers * Send feed to all members.

  3. Audience
    • Send feed to specific audience segments.
    • When this option is chosen, additional settings appear to define the targeted audience.
  4. Select Audience Name
    • Some customers have integration with Audience Service that allows the management of Member Segments in one centralized place and reuse throughout the other promotion and communication sections.
    • Specify the audience segment to target.
  5. Select from list
    • Select from list of predefined segments brings up a pop-up where all predefined audiences are listed. Based on the name and description the needed Audience can be selected as a target for this feed activity.
  6. Create new audience
    • Create a new audience segment if the desired segment does not already exist.
  7. Select Snapshots
    • Target specific snapshots of audience data.

4. Schedule

  1. Start date
    • Local Date and time from which the feed will be displayed in the app
  2. End date
    • Local Date and time until which the feed will be displayed in the app
    • Date and time must be set to a future value and has to be after the start date

5. Save as draft, Schedule or Publish Feed

  1. Save as draft
    • The feed is saved as draft and it's not displayed until it's published, regardless of the availability period set trough start and end dates. Draft feeds can be updated.
  2. Schedule
    • The feed is published and it will be displayed in the app based on the availability period set trough start and end dates.
  3. Publish
    • Schedule button is replaced with Publish button when the Start Datetime is not or sooner than now.
  4. Close
    • All changes are discarded, the feed or the updates on a feed are not saved.
